In 2003, members of Police Service Area 5's Crime Reduction Team recovered 31 firearms, served 21 search warrants, and conducted 635 arrests, 545 of which were felony arrests. |

| The Coliseum/Lockwood Melrose Neighborhood Council worked hard in 2003 to achieve beat priorities and create improvements in its community. | |
| The Council worked with the Crime Reduction Team to resolve drug dealing at 75th Avenue and Spencer. Members collaborated with OPD and Litter Enforcement Officers to reduce illegal dumping in targeted areas. The Council held two successful neighborhood clean-ups. | |
| The Council continued to support Camp DEFY, a drug education program, at Lockwood School. | |
| The Problem Solving Officers and Neighborhood Services Coordinators worked as two–person teams to attend each Neighborhood Crime Prevention Council meeting and to effectively work on local community priorities. The Problem Solving Officers continued to provide additional support to Beat Health and CRT as needed. | |
| In coordination with several City agencies, Problem Solving Officers Kurt Madison and Ron Johnson resolved a problem of blight and prostitution underneath the BART train tracks between 46th and 47th Streets in front of San Leandro Street. | |
