| The Records Division is composed of five operational support units: Records/Warrants, ID, Photo Lab, Fleet Management/Transportation, and Tow Coordinator. | |
| The Records Division functions with a compliment of one Administrative Service Manager, two Police Officers, one Identification Supervisor, four Police Records Supervisors, one Administrative Assistant, five Police Service Technician II's, and twenty–four Police Records Specialists. | |
Some of the services provided by the Records Division are listed below: |

| • Secure police reports and enter data into automated systems. • Analyze and disseminate crime pattern information. • Coordinate information and technology applications. • Process and maintain evidence photos and "mug shot" files. • Provide fingerprinting services for citation bookings, to obtain state criminal records, and/or to meet employment or certification requirements. • Register those who are required to register as felony sex, drug, or arson offenders. • Provide public access to sex offender information (Megan's Law). • Control the release of vehicles that have been towed. • Manage the Department's fleet of vehicles. • Confirm warrants for other agencies and OPD. • Maintain teletype for the OPD. |

| The Records/ Warrant Section is staffed twenty–four hours a day, seven days a week. It is open to the public from 0900 to 1700 hours seven days a week for tow releases. | |
| The Warrant Unit is the central repository for Temporary Restraining Orders against individuals involved in domestic violence. This life–saving duty must be staffed on a 24/7 basis. Trained personnel from both the Warrants and Records Units accomplish the actual data input. | |
